Our Christmas Night

A gifts that we recieved from mütter , mike auntie from Hamburg and Mike Brother from Munich.

We just three celebrating the Christmas night, preparing fondue is our motive by that night. Really missed the Ham during Christmas eve. (really)!
Our fondue for the night was chicken breast and pork lean meat , and ob course my favorite fresh mushroom. Eating fondue is a kind of exciting coz you need to cook it in the stick just to be ready. It is a great idea for the time like these chatting and sharing some thoughts.
we prepared 5 kinds of sauce which brings the food delicious.

We enjoyed our celebrations despite of December 24 was the birthday of my late father in- law. And this is the first christmas that we start celebrating without him. A little bit difficult for mütter but life must be go on.

We consider Sunday as a Family day we tend to invite Mütter to have her lunch every Sunday in our apartment i tried to cook the food that she like to eat that day. After lunch we have our session playing cubes , cards or tiles -the name of the game was Rummicub,this is our favorite next to the cubes. The rules for this game was simple each player have a tiles of 11. You can bring out your tiles if there is a total of 30 or more. It has four colors and 1 to 13 numbers you can combine the same numbers but not the same in colors, you can combine the same colors sequentially but not with other colors. (confusing ?!) . For eg ., you have 9 , 10 , 11 black tiles you can go out now and put some of your tiles that can be suited to other players and so on and so fort. You need to be observant to the numbers in the table so that you can bring all out your numbers. It's nice to learn a little bit of board game.

Deutsch-Norwegische Freundschaft( German-Norwegian friendship Club)

Last December 13 we attended the party of our Deutsch-Norwegische Freundschaft club were my husband is almost 20 years as a member and I for only 2 years. This is the organization of the friendship of the German and a Norwegian people we belong to the Regional group in Nordrheinwestfalen .

The celebration was a nice idea for a German and Norwegian people. Traditionally before the party began there's a group of the club sang the Christmas song. And the highlight was the dancing around the Christmas tree composed of two groups and dancing oppositely around the tree. It was an action song in Norwegian lyrics, i don't even knew Any words from Norway i just still act and follow what others did. Still the food was there and some stuff for raffles to be win, some prizes that we won are , 2 books , 2 wrist watch and 3 other things. Pretty sure all of us enjoyed the said event.

Kernwasser Wunderlund

During Afternoon.

This afternoon we have a walk together with my mother in-law and my husband, first we go to garage sale which held in a centrum which lot of sellers participate the garage sale which they called here "Trödel Markt". My husband bought for me the second hand 6100 nokia handy cost 20 euro, which is almost new i think that is a good price for it. Last year i have fun to collect Handy's i don't know if i can continue this hobby since we know that handy cost money.

During at Night

After our trödel markt we went to Kernwasser Wunderland its not far from our place only 10 mins driving, or walking distance i thought this place is just a small amusement park here which i am wrong for my expectation.

When we go inside there are lot 'of rides, hotel,disco, restaurant and more facilities. My husband told me that this is the old nuclear site but since the people dont like the nuclear atomic site the Operation dont continue by a German Government.

They convert it to amusement park and a Hotel instead. One big thing we enjoyed for this day aside from seeing all around and visiting some of their buildings and facilities, they offer eat all you can you can visit there whole restaurant without paying anything from drinks to food and amenities all for FREE. So we enjoyed our coffee drinks and some food in I guaranteed that our stomach are full.

Just a little information about what i had read and i want to share it with YOU!

My sorroundings

When i am in a serious humour , i very often walk by myself in park which 150 meters from our home . Where the gloominess place , nature and the use to which it is applied, with the solemnity of water fountain and animals around brings the calmly of the place and nature who are lei on it are apt to fill my mind with a kind of melancholy or rather thought fullness of nature to human being.

Christmas

Christmas is just around the weather now here become cooled sometimes snow falls, and frozen every evening and early at the morning. Some of my friends in PI told me about Simbang gabi they attended where i longing for it. Really miss the Simbang gabi and afterwards eating bibingka,suman and puto bongbong with hot ginger tea.(salabat).
Last week we go shopping and bought some stuff for each of us and for some relatives of my husband. I do the gift wrapping and my mother in law is the one sent it through post. Buying during holidays was the hectic things about shopping, lots of people around and a long line in the cashier is sometimes tiring too. Still Christmas is the special day to all! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to ALL!

Be an Optimist

A word from someone had helped me shaped my attitude toward life. If our attitude are right, then our life are made right. If our heart is touched, our mind and thinking will change and our life will change for the better accordingly. Let us focus for the bright side of life and let us count our blessing specially this coming Advent. Rather than counting the misfortunes for this year let substitute the blessings that we received. If We are burdened with the load and it seems so heavy, give it to the one who really knows the inner chamber of our heart. God is concerned only with an honest heart. Think positively - and we will find the things get better, stop being sorry for our limitations instead ENJOY!

Advent Wreath

Making an Advent wreath is a practice here in Germany as i observed they buy all the materials just to create an advent wreath as a decoration inside their house. They light the first candle during the first day of advent which i did where my mother in law is the one who influenced me and she is so eager to make our very own advent wreath. As a matter of fact she provided me all the materials that i used to. Because she has lots of old things that i can make a recycled for.

As i work in the school before i observed these also, the student make a competition to make a wonderful and giant advent wreath, they make their own design and motif. They gathered different materials from native and from expensive one. As i attended the Simbang Gabi advent wreath is still in front of the altars. This could be the symbols of Spirit of Christmas that really bring the holiday with full of joys!

Is there a real Santa Claus?

The prominent white-bearded man in red and white suit whom children and adults call Santa Claus, is a legendary figure.
His personal qualities and name were derived from an early Christian saint, name NICOLAS.
He is known to go out in disguise whenever he gives presents to children. That's why, people began to think of St. Nicolas as the giver of unexpected gifts. In 17th century , the English settles started to call him " Santa Claus.

Today is the day for St. Nicolas, it is a practice here in Germany to celebrate it by giving something to children specially in a mall, we go malling this day i have lots of crew in the mall wearing the customs of Sta. Claus. Me and my husband received also some sweet things from them they go around and greet people inside the mall.

A nice Person

Set priorities in your Life,. You have your own responsibilities. Dropping everything to help a person who's not truly in need is beyond the call of duty. They are just relying onto you. Let them be responsible for themselves.

Making a plan for example Plan A is the list for the people you can turn to in times of need. They deserve your help. Plan B is the list for those wo are undependable when it comes to helping you. If they ask for help , you should feel free to turn them down gently.

Instead help others to help themselves for example if friends cant afford to buy groceries don't keep giving him money. Instead help him find a job. That will make him more independent and more satisfying for both of you.

Money

One cold morning when we drive to Netherlands to visit my favorite shop there the Asian store which you could buy some Asian stuff or items from PI. not much goods from PI but I'm sure its enough compare to nothing. Usually we parked at Holland Casino for safety even though the payment is a little bit higher compare to other parking place, my husband reasons was , to pay extra 2 euro than you are crazy about a problem that you might be encountered to your car if accident can't be avoided. I agree, the parking in Holland Casino is safer place. So here is my stories when we going out in the parking place the weather is a Little bit cold and windy , as we continue walking i noticed the shine from a silver object that reflect to the sun mixing in the orange leaves lying in the ground.

Its come to my mind it is something unique so i keep focusing into it to my surprise it was a 50 euro bill , you did not notice it because the color is mixing to the orange leaves almost the same color for that money . When i grab the 50 euro bill i hesitated to take it for the first time and i told my husband so sorry for the owner maybe he/she need this money, my husband agree but he said maybe that's for us because we are the one found it or if we leave it there somebody find it too , so i took the money and keep it dried . So we continue walking with big smile in our face and say thanks GOD.. and bless the people who lost this money. We keep the money in our drawer together with the money that we are collecting.
